The police will question the suspect Alexus 'Dal Dal' Newland, in relation to the death of 3-year-old Nevalesia Campbell whose body was found with chop wounds  in bushes in Brown's Town, St Ann on Sunday. The mother and stepfather have already been charged with neglect.

Acting Commander of the St. Ann Police Division, Superintendent Gary Francis, said they were charged with breaches of the Child Care and Protection Act last night. The mother is Mahalia Poyser, 24 year old bartender and her common law husband Roy Dawes, 30 year old plummer.  Their files will be submitted to the courts today.

He says investigations revealed that the adults left Nevalesia and another child unsupervised to attend a party in the community. Superintendent Francis added that the mother discovered the child missing after returning from the party. Newland herwise called ‘Dal Dal’, hails from Milford, St Ann.
