It is believed that there are few things that a mother won't do for her son. This adage was proven once again when a mother who went to visit her son at the Spanish Town lock up was apprehended when she was caught attempting to smuggle in a cellular phone and over two pounds of ganja.

Allegations outlined were that over the weekend, the mother took a container with vegetables, chicken and rice and peas.

However, when the sergeant searched the meal with the fork, he realised the fork was not going through the scrumptious meal.

He then overturned the dish to find the contraband items glued to the bottom of the container in a scandal bag.

Charged with breaches of the Corrections Act and illegal possession of ganja is Karen Barrett who pleaded guilty in the St. Catherine Parish Court when she appeared this week.

Her social enquiry report and fingerprints were ordered for sentencing on June 7, 2017.
