Hanover had a bloody start to the new year when two people were killed in separate incidents.

The two have been identified as 39-year-old taxi operator Bruce Brown of Kew district in the parish and Tedford Grizzle, 39, of a New Town district in Sandy Bay, also in Hanover.

In the first incident, around 2:30 am motorists saw the body of Brown lying on the main road between Johnson Town and Kew and alerted the police.

Further inspection by the police revealed that Brown had what appeared to be a single gunshot wound to the left side of his face. His black motor car was missing.
