Security personnel at the Spanish Town Resident Magistrates' court are now on high alert after an incident in which an officer of the court was attacked in the parking lot.

Reports are that the officer who is usually assigned to the reserved area of the parking lot for workers and judges was not present today when a Crown counsel arrived for Circuit Court, and was attacked by an intruder.

The man, who wore a mask, demanded of the counsel to "do what you doing fast". The female counsel gave the man $100 and made an alarm and officers in the courthouse came to her aid, but the man escaped. She was visibly shaken after the incident, and had to be reassured by her colleagues.
