Insight Records artiste Konfydence vaulted into the national spotlight in 2013 with a well-publicised run on the popular Magnum Kings and Queens contest where her gorgeous looks, aggressive voice and sharp lyrics made her an instant hit among hardcore dancehall fans.
She placed third in the contest and since that time, she has been working hard to engineer her new found fame into mainstream acceptance. She has hit the ground running with her first official single, 'Some Bwoy a Bait, which pokes fun at a male who is the subject of domestic abuse by a hot-headed female. "I don't advocate violence, especially in a domestic situation but I thought it was a funny idea of a woman who was abusing a man in a relationship. The reaction has been excellent so far, especially when the video was premiered, the studio audience at CVM laughed and responded well," she said. The song appears on the Jimmy Ricks-produced 'Bait' riddim which also features Turbo Blacks and Mr. Kool a.k.a Night Dew. In the meantime, the video has been in excellent rotation on HYPE, RE, CVM Plus, CVM Hitlist and E PLUS. The single itself hit the HYPE TV Top 20 charts in September and has continued to move steadily into the upper echelons of the chart.
