West Kingston strongman Christopher 'Dudus' Coke was held in a police operation in the vicinity of Dyke Road in Portmore this afternoon about 4:15 p.m, one876understands. He was reportedly in the company of Reverend Al Miller who has claimed that Dudus asked him to escort him to the US Embassy. Dudus, the reported head of the Shower Posse, had been on the run for almost four weeks after the security forces had attempted to execute an arrest warrant on the alleged drug dealer. The resulting social upheavals resulted in the deaths of 73 people.


The bounty on his head had been raised to $5 million last week Friday. The police searched a house in Sector E in Bridgeport, St. Catherine last week.

The Government has imposed a State of Emergency for St. Catherine even as there was a shooting incident on the Hellshire beach at about 1 p.m. today. We are still unsure if anyone was killed during the shooting incident at Hellshire.

Prime Minister Bruce Golding announced in Parliament today that the State of Emergency will come into effect as of midnight Tuesday night for a period of one month. Mr. Golding also announced that the State of Emergency for Kingston and St. Andrew will be extended for another month.
